That's the Manyan difference. It's in the bag!
Over 100 years in the bag.
1918
We've been offering outstanding products and service since 1918, when our founder Hyman Yanofsky found himself with 200,000 jute bags after an auction. After selling the bags, he decided this might be a good business, leading to the creation of City Bag Co. and the rest, as they say, is history.
1935
We began manufacturing cotton and jute bags in 1935 when we purchased our first printing press.

1946
In 1946, Hyman's son Lawrence joined and expanded the company throughout the province of Quebec.

1971
In 1971, Lawrence's son Peter joined and we started manufacturing woven polypropylene bags.

1973
The City of Montreal expropriated City Bag Co.'s premises, which led to its closure, the retirement of Hyman and Maury Beard, and the beginning of Manyan under Lawrence Yanofsky's ownership.
1981
In 1981, we began importing woven polypropylene bags.
1989
In 1989, we built a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and warehouse from where we operate to this day. Since then, we've grown our product line to include Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBCs), Paper Poly Woven bags, BOPP bags and more.

2000
In 2000, Lawrence's grandson Andrew became the fourth generation Yanofsky to join the business.

2018
In 2018, we celebrated our 100-year anniversary and expanded our building to over 53,000 sq. ft.

We have the perfect packaging solution for your business.
